Good polls are clear, fair and respectful. These rules apply to every poll and every visitor suggestion.
Phrase questions so they don't push people toward an answer. For example, "Should cities ban cars from their centres?" rather than "Should cities finally ban polluting cars?"
Give 2–6 answers that don't overlap and cover the main points of view. Add "Not sure" when it makes sense.
Choose topics that people in many countries can relate to: world affairs, technology, the economy, society, culture, sport and the future.
• Hate speech, harassment or attacks on groups of people • Questions about private individuals • Misinformation, or questions stated as if they were facts • Spam, advertising or duplicate suggestions • Explicit or violent content
Suggestions appear publicly as soon as you send them. Our editors may remove any suggestion that breaks these guidelines, and may reword good ones into official polls.
